THURSDAY RAPID NIGHT

Thursday Nights are taking a Summer break. We will resume in September.

Thursday evenings are all about speed but still with enough time to think!

We have morphed the Wednesday Blitz into a Thursday Rapid.

Think of each month as a package that enables you to play 1 to 4 (sometimes 5) times.

All early Thursdays in the month are more casual and not rated, and entry is a nominal $5 cash at the door.

The last Thursday of each month is CFC rated. Entry is $20 cash at the door. This allows for better prizes.

The good news is that for every earlier Thursday you play, you will receive a $5 credit towards that month's last Thursday rated tournament.

For example, if you play in 3 earlier Thursdays in the month, you will receive a $15 credit towards the rated game, and only pay $5 instead of $20.

Games are 10/3 (a game must finish in 10 minutes, but each move credits you 3 seconds).

We aim to play approximately 5-6 rounds depending on attendance.

40% is returned as small prizes for the earlier Thursdays.

75% is returned as prizes for the rated Thursday, and CCC will cover rating fees.

CCC covers TD fees.

CCC membership is mandatory.

CFC membership is only required for the last Thursday as it is rated.

Hours are from 07:00pm to 10:00pm or so. Please do not be late or leave early as it affects pairings.

Coffee, tea, and sometimes simple snacks are available free. Nominal charge for pop and water.

You cannot pay online. You cannot register online. Just show up with cash. This keeps things simple and our overhead low.
