Time Control: Game in 90 + 30 second increment

Round Times: Saturday 10 a.m. 2 p.m. 7 p.m; Sunday 10 a.m. 2 p.m. or ASAP.

Byes: Max 2 half point byes available in first 4 rounds if notified before start of round 1

Maximum Late Time: 60 minutes after the start of the round

Guaranteed Break Time:  30 minutes between rounds

Prizes: 50 % of entry fees, less $5 ACA Fee per paid player.  Winner of the tournament qualifies for an entry to the 2018 Calgary International, only if he/she accepts.  The following conditions apply.

) The winner has an established FIDE rating,
b) The winner commits to playing by Monday, August 1st, 2018 and pays a non-refundable TBD entry fee plus a $100 refundable deposit.

In case of a tie for first the qualification spot will be determined by the following tie break rules:

1. Head to head result (does not apply if more than two players are tied for first)
2. Cumulative
3. Bucholz
4. Sonnenborn-Berger
5. Won Games
6. Games Played with Black
5. Coin Toss
Cash prizes will be divided equally

Entry Fee: GMs, IMs, WIMs Free.  Adult $35, Junior (20 and under) $30. Add $5 for registration at the door.

Calgary International Qualifier Registration

Pre-registered players must arrive at the venue by 9:45 on Saturday or else they will not be paired for the first round

Payments:  By cash at the Calgary Chess Club on any Tuesday or Thursday evening or mail your cheque payable to the Calgary Chess Club and mail to:
